How-to steps: Privacy in the help center
Stop people bothering you
- Block someone, and they can’t find you, follow you or message you.
- Mute someone, and you stop seeing their posts without them knowing.
- Hidden words hide comments on your posts that contain words you choose.
- Report a post, comment, story or account that breaks the community rules. The person isn’t told who reported them.

Protect your account
- Turn on two-factor authentication, so a stolen password isn’t enough to get in.
- Check where you’re signed in, and sign out of devices you don’t recognize.
