For 48 hours, nothing changes. Your account works as usual, and you can still keep it. When the 48 hours are up, you’re signed out everywhere and your profile, posts and everything else that identifies you are deleted. A deleted account can’t be brought back.
During the 48 hours
- People can still see your profile and posts, and you can post, send messages and sign in as normal.
- Signing out, or signing back in, doesn’t cancel the deletion. Only Keep my account does.
- Your phone number can’t be changed until you cancel.
- If you’re in Earnings, you can still withdraw.
What’s deleted
- Your profile: name, username, photo, cover and bio.
- Your posts, your stories (pinned ones too) and your scheduled posts. Your posts disappear from Ayyam.
- Your followers, the people you follow, your follow requests and the people you blocked.
- Your saved posts, notifications, settings, interests, circles and insights.
- Your email address, phone number, password, Google or Apple sign-in, two-factor authentication and recovery codes.
What stays
- Comments and reactions you left on other people’s posts. They stay without your name or picture.
- Messages you sent. They stay in the other person’s chat.
- Records of what you earned and what was paid out to you, for as long as the law requires for financial records.
Copies in our backups are gone within 35 days.
Afterwards
- Your username is free, and anyone can take it.
- Your email address and phone number can be used for a new account. It starts empty: nothing from the old account comes back.
