Tap the microphone at the end of the message box and start talking. Tap the square when you’re done. You can listen to it before you send it, or throw it away.
Record and send a voice message
- Open the chat. While the message box is empty, the round button at its end is a microphone.
- Tap it. The first time, allow Ayyam to use your microphone.
- Talk. A red dot and the time show while it records.
- Tap the square to stop.
- Tap play to listen to it. Then tap the send button to send it, or the bin to throw it away.
Good to know
- A voice message can be up to 5 minutes. At 5 minutes the recording stops by itself, and you can still send it.
- A recording shorter than about a second is thrown away.
- To play one you got, tap play on it.
- If you said no to the microphone before, tapping it says Ayyam can’t use the microphone. Turn it on in your phone’s Settings to record a voice message. Tap Open Settings, turn on the microphone for Ayyam, then try again.
- The website can’t record voice messages yet. One sent from the app shows there as the words Voice message, and it can’t be played.
