Tap the speech bubble under a post, write in Add a comment… and send it. To answer someone’s comment, tap Reply under it first. Your reply sits under their comment, and they get a notification.

Write a comment in the app
- Tap the speech bubble under the post. The comments open.
- Write in Add a comment…. The four emoji above the box add themselves to what you’re writing.
- Tap the send arrow.
Write a comment on the website
- Click the speech bubble under the post.
- Write in Add a comment….
- Click Post.
A comment can be up to 2,000 characters.
Reply to a comment
Reply to a comment in the app
- Tap Reply under the comment.
- The box now says Reply to and their username. Write your reply and tap the send arrow.
Changed your mind? Tap Cancel next to Replying to, and the box goes back to a normal comment.
Reply to a comment on the website
- Click Reply under the comment.
- Write your reply and click Post. Click Cancel next to Replying to to stop.
Replies show under the comment they answer. Tap View 2 replies, or however many there are, to open them. Replies only go one level down: answering a reply puts yours under the same comment.
Like a comment
Tap the heart next to a comment. The person who wrote it gets a notification.
Good to know
- The person who posted gets a notification for each comment, and you get one when someone replies to yours.
- Newest and Oldest at the top change the order of the comments.
- Typing @ suggests people to mention, starting with people you follow. The name turns into a link to their profile, and they’re told you mentioned them, unless they limit who can mention them.
- Comments you write are listed in your Activity for 180 days.
