Tap the share button under the post, the arrow at the end of the row. Pick one or more people, add a message if you like, and tap Send. Each person gets the post in your chat with them.

Send a post

Send a post in the app

  1. Tap the share button under the post. On a video in Videos, it’s on the right.
  2. Pick the people to send it to. Frequent shows the people you’ve chatted with lately, and All friends the people you follow. To find anyone else, type in Search friends.
  3. Write in Add a message… if you like. It goes with the post.
  4. Tap Send. The button shows how many people you picked.

The app says Sent to and the person’s name, or how many people it went to. ⋯ on a post has Share too, which opens the same sheet.

Send a post on the website

  1. Click the share button under the post.
  2. Pick people from Frequent or All friends, or search for them.
  3. Add a message if you like, and click Send.

If it didn’t reach everyone

The sheet stays open and says Could not reach 1 of 3. Send again to retry. Only the people it missed stay picked, so tap Send again. Nobody gets it twice.

It can’t reach someone who only takes messages from people they follow, or from people they follow back, unless you’ve chatted before. See What are message requests?

Good to know

  • The person opens the post from the chat. They see it only if they could see it anyway: a post for followers won’t open for someone who doesn’t follow its owner.
  • Someone else’s post that’s for a circle, or set to Only me, can’t be sent.
  • The bottom of the sheet has Copy link, Add to story and Other apps.
