Before you share, open Advanced settings and turn on Turn off commenting. For a post that’s already up, tap ⋯ on it, then Edit, and switch off Allow commenting. You can turn comments back on the same way.

Before you post

Turn off comments in the app

  1. On New post, tap Advanced settings.
  2. Under COMMENTS & LIKES, turn on Turn off commenting.
  3. Tap Done.

Turn off comments on the website

  1. In the new post window, click Next.
  2. Under Interaction, turn on Turn off commenting.
  3. Click Post now.

On a post that’s already up

Turn comments off on a shared post in the app

  1. Tap ⋯ on your post.
  2. Tap Edit.
  3. Switch off Allow commenting, and tap Save changes.

To let people comment again, switch Allow commenting back on.

Turn comments off on a shared post on the website

  1. Click ⋯ on your post, then Edit.
  2. Turn on Turn off commenting, and click Save changes.

To let people comment again, turn it back off.

While comments are off

  • Nobody can add a comment or a reply. Where the comment box was, the post says Comments are turned off on this post.
  • Other people don’t see the comments already on the post. You still do. Nothing is deleted, and everyone sees them again when you turn comments back on.

To choose who can comment on all your posts instead, go to Settings → Privacy → Who can comment on your posts.
