Tap the sound’s name on the video to open the sound’s page, then tap Use this sound. Pick a video, or some photos, and the sound goes on your post in place of their own.
Use a sound
- Open the sound’s page. On a video in Videos, tap the sound’s name at the bottom. On a full-screen video, tap the sound under it.
- The page shows the sound’s name, whose it is and how many posts use it, with the original video first.
- Tap Use this sound. Your photos and videos open, and the sound is kept for your post.
- Pick one video, or one or more photos, and tap Next.
- For a video, the sound is on Clip settings, under SOUND. For photos, it’s under SOUND on New post. Either way, you can choose where it starts.
- Finish your post and tap Share post.
How it sounds on your post
- On a video, the sound replaces your video’s own sound at first. To hear both, turn Original up on Clip settings.
- It plays at normal speed, even if you sped up or slowed down your video.
- It’s cut to the length of your video. If the sound is shorter, the end of your video is silent.
Good to know
- The person whose sound it is gets a notification.
- Your post shows the sound’s name, and it’s listed on the sound’s page with the others.
- Photos with a sound play it for 30 seconds at most, then start again.
- To find a sound by name, search for it and open the Audio tab of the results.
- The website shows a sound’s page and plays it, but can’t use it yet.
