Go to Settings → Wellbeing and pick a Daily limit. It’s already on, at 2 hours, unless you change it. When you reach it, the app locks until midnight.

Choose your limit

  1. On Home, tap your profile picture at the top to open Settings.
  2. Under Preferences, tap Wellbeing.
  3. Under Your time, next to Daily limit, tap 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours or Off.

It’s saved as soon as you tap. While a limit is on, Settings shows it next to Wellbeing.

What counts

  • Time Ayyam is open on your screen, on this phone. Time with the app in the background doesn’t count.
  • A new day starts at midnight on your phone’s clock.
  • Today, at the top of Wellbeing, shows the time you’ve used and what’s left. Its bar turns red in the last 5 minutes.

When you reach it

Five minutes before, a message says 5 minutes left of today’s limit. At the limit the app locks until midnight. Nothing opens it sooner, and the limit can’t be changed until it does.

Picking a limit you’ve already passed

If you choose a limit lower than the time you’ve used today, the app asks Lock the app now? first. Lock now locks it straight away, until midnight. Cancel keeps the limit you had.

Good to know

  • The limit is kept on this phone, not on your account. Another phone has its own limit, and ayyam.com has none.
  • Changing the limit gives you a new 5-minute warning for that day.
