Take a break reminds you to stop after you’ve scrolled past a number of posts. It’s on at 50 posts unless you change it. You can pick 25, 50 or 100, or turn it off, in Settings → Wellbeing.
Choose how often
- On Home, tap your profile picture at the top to open Settings.
- Under Preferences, tap Wellbeing.
- Under Your time, next to Take a break, tap 25 posts, 50 posts, 100 posts or Off.
It’s saved as soon as you tap.
Which posts count
- Posts that reach your screen on Home, in For you and Following, and in Videos. Each post counts once.
- Posts on profiles, on topic and hashtag pages, and in search don’t count.
- Go 10 minutes without a new post and the count starts over. Time in a chat or reading comments counts as stopping.
The reminder
A page opens over the feed saying Time for a break?, with how many posts you’ve scrolled past and a few ideas, like standing up for a stretch. Any video stops playing.
Tap Keep scrolling or ✕ to go back to where you were. Change reminder opens Wellbeing. The next reminder comes after the same number of posts again.
Good to know
- The setting is kept on this phone. Another phone has its own.
- The website doesn’t have break reminders.
- For a firm stop after a set time each day, use the daily limit.
