Add the word in Your interests, under Words to see less of, and tap Save. Posts with that word then stop showing up in For you at all, not just less often.

Add a word

  1. Go to Settings → Wellbeing → Your interests.
  2. Scroll down to See less of.
  3. Under Words to see less of, type a word or a phrase where it says Add a word or a phrase, and tap Add.
  4. Tap Save at the top.

To take a word off the list, tap it, then tap Save.

Which posts a word hides

  • A single word hides a post when it’s a whole word in the caption, in a hashtag, or in the keywords Ayyam found in the post. So art hides posts about art, but not a post about a party.
  • A phrase of two or more words hides a post whose caption contains it.
  • Capital letters don’t matter, and neither does a # at the start.
  • In Arabic, ة and ه count as the same letter, and so do the forms of alef. A word typed without «ال» also catches it with «ال», so مقالب hides المقالب.

You can add up to 200 words, each up to 60 characters long.

Where the words work

Only in For you, on Home and in Videos. Posts with these words still show in Following, on profiles, in search, and on topic and hashtag pages.

The list is saved to your account, so it works in For you on ayyam.com too. You can only change it in the app.

Hide comments with certain words

This list only changes your feed. To hide comments that contain certain words on your own posts, use Hidden words in Settings → Privacy. It’s a separate list.
