A boost puts your post in front of people who don’t follow you, marked as sponsored. So a boosted post has to follow all the community rules, plus the extra rules on this page. We review every boost before it starts.
Not allowed in a boost
- Political content: parties, candidates, elections and referendums, political campaigns and causes, and politicians promoting themselves.
- Alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes, gambling and betting, and weapons, even where an ordinary post could mention them.
- Investment, trading, crypto and get-rich offers, and loans.
- Medicines, supplements and treatments that promise a cure, weight loss or “before and after” results.
- Dating services, and adult or sexual wellness products.
- Shocking, frightening or sensational images used to grab attention.
- Misleading offers: fake prices or discounts, countdowns that aren’t real, or promises the product doesn’t keep.
- Someone else’s post. You can only boost your own.
Allowed
- Your work, your products, your business and your events.
- Fundraising and awareness from registered charities.
Review
We review each boost before it starts, and you’ll get a notice when it’s approved or refused. If a boosted post turns out to break the rules after it starts, we stop it.
