Disagree with anyone you like. Insulting them, frightening them or dragging their name through the mud isn’t allowed.
Not allowed
- Insults and name-calling, and mocking someone’s looks, body, disability, illness, family or background.
- Threats, and messages meant to frighten someone.
- Contacting someone again and again after they’ve made clear they don’t want it, including from new accounts.
- Sexual harassment: unwanted sexual comments, messages, photos or advances.
- Blackmail: threatening to publish someone’s photos, messages or secrets unless they pay or do what you ask.
- Attacks on someone’s honor: accusations or rumors about their sexual life, their relationships or their reputation.
- Getting others to gang up on someone, or making accounts and pages to mock a person.
- Filming someone in a humiliating moment, such as a fight, a prank or a breakdown, and posting it against their will.
- Wishing death or serious illness on a particular person.
Allowed
- Arguing, disagreeing, and criticizing ideas, opinions and what public figures do in public, without insults or threats.
- Teasing between friends, when everyone’s in on it.
If someone is blackmailing you
Don’t pay, and don’t send anything else. Take screenshots of the messages, then block the account, report it to us and report it to the police.
