Two things decide it: whether your account is public or private, and the audience you chose for the post. On a public account, a post set to Everyone can reach anyone on Ayyam. On a private account, nothing goes past your followers.

The audience and your account together

You choose the audience on New post, and you can change it later from the post.

Where a post for everyone shows up

On a public account, posts set to Everyone can appear in other people’s For you, in Explore and Videos, in search, and on hashtag and place pages. A post for followers or a circle only shows to the people it’s for, in their feeds and on your profile.

Who never sees them

  • People you’ve blocked, and people who’ve blocked you, whatever the audience.
  • Someone who stops following you loses your posts for followers and circles straight away.

When someone shares your post

Sharing can’t widen the audience. Only posts set to Everyone can be reposted, and a post sent in a chat only opens for someone who could see it anyway.

Stories follow your account: on a public account anyone can watch them, on a private one only your followers.
