Turn off Show activity status in Settings → Privacy. The people you chat with stop seeing when you’re online or were last active. It works both ways, so you stop seeing theirs too.
Turn it off
- On Home, tap your profile picture at the top to open Settings, then tap Privacy.
- Under Interactions, turn off Show activity status.
It takes effect straight away. Turn it back on and people see your status again.
Where your status shows
Only in Messages, and only to people you have a chat with. It never shows on your profile.
- A dot on your picture in their list of chats, and your picture in the row of people who are online at the top.
- Active now under your name when they open the chat with you, or Active 5m ago once you’ve left.
Active … ago stays for up to 4 hours after you were last on Ayyam. After that, nothing shows at all.
Good to know
- It’s on for every account until you turn it off.
- Blocking hides it both ways, and so does blocking only someone’s messages.
- The website doesn’t show anyone’s activity status.
