On Home, tap Create story at the start of the row of stories. Pick a photo or video, add a few words if you like, and tap Share to story. It stays up for 24 hours.

Create a story in the app
- On Home, tap Create story, the first card in the stories row. If you already have a story up, the card says Your story: tap the + on it instead.
- Pick a photo or video from your phone, or take one with CAMERA.
- On New story, write a caption if you want one, up to 200 characters.
- Tap Share to story. Added to your story tells you it worked.
Create a story on the website
- On ayyam.com, click Create story at the start of the stories row on Home. You can also click the plus button and choose Story at the top of the window.
- Click Choose a photo, or drag one into the window. It has to be a JPEG, PNG or WebP.
- Click Share to story. Your story is up tells you it worked.
The website takes photos only, with no caption.
While it gets ready
A video takes a moment to process after it uploads. Your card on Home says Processing until then, and sometimes In review while we check it. The story goes up on its own, and its 24 hours start then.
Good to know
- A story is one photo or one video. To post several, make several stories. They play one after another.
- You can’t crop, add filters or add text to a story. The editor is for posts only.
- Who sees it depends on your account. If it’s public, anyone can watch your stories. If it’s private, only your followers can.
- To put a post you’ve already shared in your story, use Repost on the post.
