Open your story, tap the bar at the bottom of it, and tap Pin. The story is kept on your profile, in a row of circles, and it stays there after the 24 hours are up.

Pin a story

  1. Open your story: on Home, tap Your story, the first card in the stories row.
  2. Tap the right side of the screen until you reach the one you want.
  3. Tap the bar at the bottom, with the number of viewers.
  4. Tap Pin. It changes to Unpin.

Each pinned story is its own circle. Its label is the story’s caption, or the date when there’s no caption. You can pin up to 100. At 100, the app says You can pin up to 100 stories. Unpin one to pin this.

Note: If your account is private, only your followers can watch your pinned stories.

Unpin a story

  1. Open the story. While it’s up, open it from Home. After its 24 hours, tap its circle on your profile.
  2. Tap the bar at the bottom.
  3. Tap Unpin.

A story more than 24 hours old leaves your profile for good when you unpin it, since it’s no longer up anywhere else.

Good to know

  • Deleting a story also takes it off your profile, whether it’s still up or only pinned.
  • The New circle at the start of your own row makes a new story. It doesn’t pin anything: pin the story after it’s up.
  • You can’t name or group pinned stories.
  • The website shows pinned stories on profiles, but can’t pin one.
