The Stories tab has two decks of cards, with Universe and Followers at the top to switch between them. Followers is the people you follow who have a story up. Universe is stories from people you don’t follow, picked for you.
Use the decks
- Swipe a card to the left, or tap ✕, to pass and see the next one.
- Swipe it to the right, or tap ♥, to react with ❤️. The person sees that you did.
- Tap the card, swipe it up or tap Watch to play the story.
- Tap the picture or name on the card to open the person’s profile.
Followers
One card for each person you follow who has a story up, starting with their next story you haven’t watched. These are the same people as in the row at the top of Home.
When you’ve been through everyone, it says You’ve seen everyone you follow who has a story. Tap Start over to go round again.
Universe
Stories from people you don’t follow, one story per card. Ayyam puts first the stories people open and react to most, for how often they’ve been shown, and saves some places for new stories so they get a chance to be seen.
- A story you’ve passed doesn’t come back. Passing doesn’t hide the person, and their next story can still turn up.
- Only public accounts appear here. People you’ve blocked, and people who’ve blocked you, never do.
- When you reach the end, it says Nothing new right now. Tap Check again later.
Will my story show in Universe?
If your account is public, your stories can show in Universe to people who don’t follow you. If it’s private, they never do.
