Uploads holds the photos and videos you’ve put on Ayyam: the ones in your posts and stories, your profile picture and cover, and anything you upload there yourself. They’re kept on your account, not on your phone, so they’re there on any phone you sign in on. Only you can see them.

Open your uploads

In the app, open Settings and tap Uploads, under Content. The screen is called Your uploads.

  • All, Videos and Photos at the top filter the list.
  • Upload adds a photo or video from your phone.
  • Tap anything to see when you added it, its size, its length if it’s a video, and how many posts use it, like In 2 posts.

From there you can use it in a new post or story, save it to your phone, make it your profile picture or cover, or delete it.

On the website, Settings → Content shows your uploads too, and the new post window has Uploads library to pick from. The website can’t delete them or save them to your computer.

What’s not in Uploads

  • Photos and videos you send in chats.
  • A post’s photos when you turned off Save to your Uploads before you shared it. It’s in Advanced settings on New post, under SHARING & REUSE, and it’s on unless you turn it off.

What the labels on a tile mean

  • Processing… A video is still being made ready. It usually takes a minute or two.
  • Upload failed It didn’t finish. Delete it and upload it again.
  • In review An automatic check stopped it, and someone at Ayyam will look at it.

Good to know

  • Deleting a post doesn’t delete its photos from Uploads. You can delete them afterwards, once nothing else uses them.
  • A video from Uploads can go into a new post, but it can’t be trimmed or edited again.
