Open Settings → Content → Scheduled. If the post couldn’t go out, it’s still there, marked DIDN’T GO OUT in red, with the reason underneath. You aren’t sent a notification when this happens, so this list is the only place you’ll see it.
Why it didn’t go out
When the time comes, a scheduled post goes through the same checks as a post you share straight away, and any one of these stops it.
- A photo or video in it was deleted from your Uploads, or wasn’t approved after a review.
- Someone you tagged no longer lets you tag them, or has blocked you.
- It’s a circle post, and someone you tagged isn’t in the circle, or the circle has been deleted.
- The sound you added is no longer available.
- Something went wrong on our side three times in a row.
The reason under DIDN’T GO OUT is the server’s own message, and it’s in English for now.
What to do
- If the problem is fixed, tap Pick a new time and choose a time at least 5 minutes away. The post goes through the checks again then.
- If the problem is in the post itself, like a deleted photo or a person who won’t be tagged, a new time won’t help. Tap Delete and make the post again without it.
On the website, the same list is in Settings → Content, under Scheduled.
It’s not in Scheduled, and not on my profile either
Look at the top of your profile. If a photo or video was still processing, or in review, when the time came, the post waits there with a word on its tile, like Processing or In review. It goes up by itself once it’s ready or approved.
It went out, but late or not where I expected
- Posts go out within a minute of the time you picked.
- Scheduled shows times in your phone’s current time zone, named under each post, like Asia/Riyadh (UTC+03:00). A time you picked in another time zone still goes out at that same moment, so after a trip it can look an hour or more off.
- A scheduled post never goes to your story. The app won’t schedule a post with Story on.
