On a video, every piece of text and every sticker can have its own time on screen. Tap it, then drag the ends of the window under SHOWS FOR. Play the video to watch it come and go.
Set when it shows
- Open the video in the editor, then tap Next twice to reach Text.
- Add your text or sticker, or tap one you’ve already added.
- Under SHOWS FOR, drag the start and the end of the window. The times show above it.
- Tap play to check it, then tap Done.
To move the window without changing its length, drag it by the middle.
Show it for the whole video again
Tap ALL next to the times, or drag both ends back to the edges. The row then says Whole clip.
Good to know
- New text and stickers show for the whole video until you change them.
- With nothing selected, the row says Select a caption. Tap the text or sticker first.
- The times count from the start of the finished video, after trimming and any speed change. If you trim or change the speed afterwards, check the window again.
- The shortest window is half a second.
- A drawing always shows for the whole video.
- Photos don’t have SHOWS FOR. A photo has no timeline.
