Both are on Clip settings, under SOUND. Original is the video’s own sound: drag its slider to turn it down, or tap its speaker to cut it. Add music puts a sound from Ayyam on the video, in place of its own sound or together with it.

Turn the video’s sound down or off

  1. Open the video in the editor, then tap Next. Clip settings opens.
  2. Under SOUND, drag the slider next to Original. The number at the end of the row is the level.
  3. Tap Next, then Done.

The speaker next to Original goes straight to 0, and a second tap brings it back to 100. At 0 the line underneath says The posted video will have no sound.

Tip: The speaker over the video, on the other screens, only silences the preview while you edit. Your post keeps its sound.

Replace the sound, or mix in music

  1. On Clip settings, tap Add music and pick a sound.
  2. If the sound is longer than your video, drag Starts at to choose the part that plays.

Adding a sound turns Original down to 0 and puts Music at 100, so the sound replaces the video’s own. To hear both, turn Original back up, and drag Music to the level you want. The line underneath then says The posted video plays both sounds, at these levels.

To take the sound off, tap Remove next to its name. Original goes back to 100.

Good to know

  • Once the video is posted, its sound can’t be removed or changed.
  • The website can’t remove or replace a video’s sound.
