A normal sign-in is just your email or phone number and your password. If a code screen opens after your password, it’s for one of two reasons.
Your email address hasn’t been confirmed
Some accounts, mostly older ones, have an email address that was never confirmed. Before the first sign-in goes through, we send a 6-digit code to that address to make sure it’s yours.
- After your password, Verification opens. The code has gone to the email address on your account, even if you signed in with your phone number.
- Enter the code from the email and tap Verify & Continue.
You only do this once. After that, signing in goes straight through. It’s also skipped if you’ve already confirmed your phone number.
On ayyam.com, the same step says This address has not been confirmed yet.
You turned on two-factor authentication
If you see Two-factor authentication instead, the code comes from the authenticator app on your phone, not from a message. You’ll be asked for it every time you sign in.
If the code doesn’t come
- The code works for 10 minutes, and you can ask for a new one once a minute with Resend.
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- To leave the code screen, tap Back to sign in. Your sign-in won’t finish until the code is entered.
