Open Advanced settings on New post and tap Schedule post. Pick the day and time, and the button at the bottom changes to Schedule post. The post goes out by itself within a minute of that time, even if your phone is off.

Schedule a post
Schedule a post in the app
- On New post, tap Advanced settings.
- Under ACCESSIBILITY & TIMING, tap Schedule post.
- Pick the day, then the time. The times are in your phone’s time zone.
- Tap Done. The line under the button says when the post goes out.
- Tap Schedule post.
Scheduled opens, and the app says when the post goes out. To post straight away instead, open Schedule post again and tap Turn off.
Schedule a post on the website
- In the new post window, click Next.
- Under Timing, click Schedule and pick the day and time.
- Click Schedule post.
Keep the tab open until your media has finished uploading, or the post won’t be able to go out.
The rules
- At least 5 minutes from now, and at most 90 days ahead.
- Times go in steps of 5 minutes.
- You can have up to 50 posts scheduled at once.
Change or cancel a scheduled post
Your scheduled posts are in Settings → Scheduled in the app, and in Settings → Content → Scheduled on the website.
- Reschedule picks a new time.
- Cancel post takes it off the list. It isn’t kept as a draft: the photos stay in your uploads, but the caption and settings go with it.
You can’t change the caption or the photos of a scheduled post. Cancel it and make it again.
Good to know
- A scheduled post can’t go to your story. With Story on, the app says You cannot schedule a story. Turn it off first.
- When the time comes, the post goes through the same checks as any other. A tag that’s no longer allowed, or a circle you’ve deleted, stops it. It then shows DIDN’T GO OUT in Scheduled.
