Open your chat with them, tap their name at the top, then Block with their name, and choose Block messages only. Their messages stop. Their profile and posts stay as they are, and you still follow each other.
Block their messages
- Open the chat.
- Tap their name at the top. More options opens.
- Tap Block with their name.
- Tap Block messages only.
The app says Blocked messages from and their name.
What it does
- They can’t send you messages. On their side the message just says Not sent, with no reason given.
- You can’t send them messages either, until you unblock.
- Neither of you sees the other’s activity status.
- Nothing else changes. You still follow each other and can see each other’s profiles and posts.
- They aren’t told.
This kind of block is only offered from a chat. Block on someone’s profile is always the full block.
Unblock their messages
Open the chat and tap their name, then Unblock with their name. Choose Unblock messages. The app says they can message you again.
