Go to Settings → Security → Password. Type your current password, then the new one twice. You stay signed in where you are, and every other phone and browser is signed out.
Change your password
Change your password in the app
- On Home, tap your profile picture at the top to open Settings, then tap Security.
- Tap Password. Next to it you can see how long ago you last changed it.
- Fill in Current password, New Password and Confirm New Password.
- Tap Update Password.
The app says Password updated and Your other devices have been signed out. Tap Done.
Change your password on the website
- Open Settings on ayyam.com and click Security.
- Click Change next to Password.
- Fill in your current password and the new one twice.
- Click Change password.
The new password needs at least 8 characters. Anything else is up to you, but a long one you don’t use anywhere else is the safest.
What happens next
- Every other device is signed out within seconds. The one you used stays signed in.
- We email your account’s address to say the password was changed.
- Your posts, messages and settings stay as they are.
If it says your current password is wrong
The app says Your current password is not correct. Check for a capital letter or a different keyboard language.
Wrong passwords count toward the same limit as signing in. After 10 wrong tries, your account waits 15 minutes before it accepts a password again. The app then says Too many attempts. Try again in a few minutes.
If you’ve forgotten your current password, sign out and use Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen instead.
If you signed up with Google or Apple
Your account has no password, so there’s nothing to change. Tapping Password in the app says You signed in with Google. There is no password on this account., or Apple. The website says the same under Password.
To add a password, sign out and tap Forgot Password? on the sign-in screen. Enter the email address on your account, and the code we send lets you set one. You can then sign in with Google or Apple, or with your email and that password.
