Go to Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication and tap Turn off two-factor authentication. Enter your password to confirm. From then on, signing in asks for your password only.
Turn it off
- On Home, tap your profile picture at the top to open Settings, then tap Security.
- Tap Two-factor authentication.
- Tap Turn off two-factor authentication.
- Enter your password and tap Turn off two-factor authentication again.
If you signed up with Google or Apple and have no password, step 4 asks for a code from your authenticator app, or one of your recovery codes.
What changes
- Your recovery codes stop working, all of them.
- You can delete Ayyam from your authenticator app. Its codes won’t be asked for again.
- We email your account’s address to say two-factor authentication was turned off.
- Nobody is signed out.
Warning: Without two-factor authentication, your password is all anyone needs to sign in. If you didn’t turn it off yourself and you get that email, change your password straight away.
Moving to a new phone or another authenticator app
Ayyam can’t move your two-factor authentication to a new app while it’s on. Turn it off, then tap Set up and add Ayyam to the new app. You get 10 new recovery codes when you do.
Lost the phone with the app?
You have to be signed in to turn it off. Sign in with one of your recovery codes first, or turn it off from another phone that’s still signed in.
I can’t get into my authenticator app
Two-factor authentication can only be turned off in the app, not on the website.
