Allow remixes decides whether other people can use your video’s sound in their own posts. It’s on unless you switch it off. Only posts with a video have it.
Where to find it
- Before you post: on New post, tap Advanced settings. It’s under SHARING & REUSE, with the note Others can use this video’s sound in theirs.
- After you post: tap ⋯ on the post, then Edit, and use Allow others to use this sound. Tap Save changes. This only shows on a video with its own sound.
When it’s on
Anyone who opens your video’s sound can tap Use this sound and put it on their own video or photos.
When you switch it off
- Nobody new can use the sound. They see The author does not allow others to use this sound.
- Posts that already use it keep it.
The website has Allow reposting in the same place, which is a different switch. Switched off, nobody else can repost the post.
