Tap Add location on New post, then search for the place or pick one near you. Its name shows under your photos, and tapping it opens a page of posts from that place.
Add a location
Add a location in the app
- On New post, tap Add location.
- Type the place’s name in Search places, or pick one under NEARBY.
- Tap the place. Its name shows on the Add location row.
Use current location picks the place nearest to you in one tap.
To take the location off, open Add location and tap Remove location.
Add a location on the website
- In the new post window, click Add location.
- Search for the place, or click Use current location to see places near you.
- Click the place.
Your position stays private
Ayyam uses where you are only to find places near you. The post gets the place you pick, with the place’s own address, and nothing about where you were standing.
You don’t need to share your location to add one. Searching by name works either way. Without it, you just don’t see NEARBY, and the sheet says Turn on location to see places near you.
The place’s page
Tap the place’s name under a post to see other posts from there, newest first. Directions opens your maps app.
A post can have one place. You can’t change it after the post is shared.
