On New post, tap Tag people, find the person and tap Tag. They get a notification, and the post can show on the Tagged tab of their profile. One post can tag up to 20 people.

Tag people
Tag people in the app
- On New post, tap Tag people.
- Pick someone under SUGGESTED, which lists the people you follow, or type a name in Search people.
- Tap Tag next to each person. It changes to Tagged.
- Tap Done. The Tag people row shows how many you tagged.
To untag someone before you share, open Tag people again and tap Tagged next to them.
Tag people on the website
- In the new post window, click Tag people.
- Pick from People you follow, or search by name or handle. Type at least 3 letters to search everyone.
- Select the people and click Tag them.
Take yourself off someone else’s post
If someone tagged you and you’d rather they hadn’t, tap ⋯ on their post, then Remove me from this post. The app asks Remove yourself from this post? Tap Remove.
Your name comes off the post, and it leaves your Tagged tab. The person who posted isn’t told. On the website, it’s the same: click ⋯ on the post, then Remove me from this post.
Good to know
- A tag is for the whole post, not for a spot on a photo.
- You can’t tag yourself.
- In a post for one of your circles, you can only tag people who are in that circle.
- Once the post is shared, the tags can’t be changed.
- If a tag is refused, the post doesn’t go up until you remove that person.
