A video in a post can be up to 10 minutes long. If one is longer, the card on Home says Couldn’t post and Clip 1 is too long., followed by how to fix it. Trim the video in the editor and share again.
What the message means
| What it says | What it means |
|---|---|
| Trim it to 10 minutes or less. | The video is longer than 10 minutes. |
| It plays for 12 minutes at this speed. | You slowed it down, so it now plays for more than 10 minutes. Speed it back up, or trim it. |
| Splitting does not shorten it — the whole clip is still read. Trim it instead. | You split the video. With a split, the whole original video counts toward the 10 minutes, not just the shots you kept. |
The number after Clip says which video in the post it is, counting from the first.
Trim the video
- On the card, tap Edit. The post opens on New post.
- Tap the video’s thumbnail. It opens on Trim.
- Drag the ends of the bar until the part you keep is under 10 minutes.
- Tap Next, Next again, then Done.
- Tap Share post.
Good to know
- Only what you keep after trimming counts.
- The camera in Ayyam records up to 3 minutes, so a video you take there is never too long.
- On the website, a video over 10 minutes stops uploading as soon as its length is read. Its tile says Over 10 minutes, with a message naming the file. The website can’t trim, so shorten the video before you upload it.
