Make a post in the app

  1. Tap Create, the middle icon in the bar at the bottom.
  2. Tap a photo or video. To pick more than one, tap Select many or hold a photo, then tap the others.
  3. Tap Next. A single photo or video opens in the editor first, and you tap Done when it looks right. Several go straight to New post.
  4. Write a caption. Add Tag people, Add location or Audience if you want them.
  5. Tap Share post.

To change a photo before you post, tap its thumbnail on New post. It opens in the editor again.

Make a post on the website

  1. On ayyam.com, click the plus button.
  2. Drag photos or videos into the window, or click Photo, Video or Uploads library.
  3. Write a caption. Add Tag people or Add location if you want them.
  4. Click Next. Under Who can see it, choose who sees the post.
  5. Click Post now.

The website takes JPEG, PNG and WebP photos, and MP4, MOV and WebM videos.

After you tap Share post

  • You’re back on Home. A card at the top says Posting… and shows how far the upload has got. You can carry on using the app.
  • A video needs a minute or two to get ready after it uploads. The card says Processing until then, and the post goes up on its own.
  • Then your post takes the card’s place.
  • If something goes wrong, the card says Couldn’t post and offers Retry, Edit and Discard.

Note: Until it’s up, your post is also kept in Settings → Drafts. If the app closes partway, open it from there and share it again. Anything that had finished uploading isn’t uploaded twice.

On the website, keep the tab open until your media has finished uploading.
