Tap Create, then CAMERA along the bottom. Choose PHOTO or VIDEO and tap the round button. What you take opens in the editor, ready to post.
Take a photo or record a video
- Tap Create, the middle icon in the bar at the bottom.
- Tap CAMERA at the bottom of the screen. The first time, tap Allow camera.
- Choose PHOTO or VIDEO under the viewfinder.
- Tap the round button. For a video, tap it again to stop.
- It opens in the editor. Carry on as with any other post.
On the camera screen
- The flash button switches between FLASH OFF and FLASH ON.
- GRID draws lines over the picture to help you line up the shot.
- The switch-camera button flips between the front and back camera.
- While you record, the timer counts up to 3:00. Recording stops on its own at 3 minutes.
Good to know
- What you take isn’t saved to your phone’s photos. It’s only kept for the post.
- To post a longer video, film it with your phone’s own camera app and pick it from LIBRARY. A video can be up to 10 minutes.
- If the camera is off for Ayyam, the screen says so. Turn it on for Ayyam in your phone’s settings.
- The website has no camera. Upload a photo or video from your computer instead.
