When a post can’t go up, the card at the top of Home says Couldn’t post and gives the reason under it. Tap Retry if it was the connection, or Edit to change something in the post. Your caption, photos and settings are kept either way.
Try this first
- Check your connection, then tap Retry. Anything that had finished uploading isn’t sent again.
- If it fails again, tap Edit, change what the reason points to, and tap Share post.
Discard deletes the post, and its draft too.
What the reason means

When Share post doesn’t work
The button doesn’t respond in two cases, and the screen says why.
- Audience says Choose a circle first. Pick a circle, or another audience.
- The post has a sound and a video together. A sound goes on photos only, or on one video.
On the website
If a post fails on the website, it gives the same reasons as the app, or Could not post that when it has none to give. Click Try again. On the website, keep the tab open until your media has finished uploading.
